(VIANEWS) – Peru took action against protesters at the massive Las Bambas copper mining to permit operations to resume. There were reports of police clashes with members of the community.
Bloomberg Quint confirmed that police used tear gas to disperse protesters at the mine site. TVPeru Noticias reports that four people sustained injuries, including one woman who had suffered serious eye damage and another officer who was struck by a rock. Four vehicles were also set on fire at the entrance to the mine.
