AMD secured a 6 gigawatt GPU contract with Meta, marking one of the sector's largest infrastructure commitments. The deal equates to powering 4.5 million homes worth of computing capacity dedicated to AI model training.

Red Hat and NVIDIA co-launched Red Hat AI Factory with NVIDIA, an enterprise-grade platform for hybrid cloud AI deployments. Supermicro certified its accelerated computing systems for the platform, targeting organizations reluctant to commit fully to public cloud services. "Supermicro has an extensive portfolio of Red Hat-certified systems and is dedicated to delivering the most advanced accelerated computing infrastructure for AI factories," said Vik Malyala, Supermicro executive.

Cryptocurrency mining operators in North America are repurposing facilities as AI data centers. DMG Blockchain Solutions adjusted equipment operations to prioritize profitability and received a $1.5 million energy efficiency incentive. Mawson Infrastructure Group reported a preliminary $23.8 million net loss for 2025 while adopting a stockholder rights agreement permitting strategic transactions.

Pure Storage rebranded as Everpure and announced an acquisition expected to close in Q2 FY27, positioning for AI-driven data growth. AMD also invested in Nutanix to strengthen hybrid cloud capabilities.

The Red Hat-NVIDIA partnership competes directly with hyperscaler-exclusive AI services from Amazon, Microsoft and Google, offering enterprises an alternative for on-premises or hybrid deployments. AMD's strategy targets both hyperscale public cloud contracts and distributed enterprise infrastructure.

Crypto mining facilities offer pre-built power infrastructure and cooling systems that AI data centers require, making conversion faster than constructing new sites. The pivot reflects higher profit margins in AI infrastructure versus cryptocurrency mining amid volatile digital asset markets.
