Manulife, operating across Asia, Canada and the United States, expanded its Microsoft partnership to deploy AI agents throughout its global insurance and financial arms.1 The insurer adopted Microsoft Frontier Suite, a toolset built for enterprise-wide agent rollouts. "Our partnership with Microsoft is a critical enabler of Manulife's continued evolution into a truly AI-driven organization," said Shamus Weiland.1
In the US, Box introduced new administrative controls letting multinational enterprises deploy AI agents across content systems while managing security across borders and vendors.2 Nomura Research Institute, a Japanese Box customer, said switching between AI models while keeping content secure was essential to its international operations. "We've found it extremely reassuring that Box offers multi-vendor support, allowing us to flexibly switch between AI models, while providing security management capabilities that span prevention, detection, and response," said Tatsutoshi Murata.2 Nomura called the added layer critical as it expands AI use globally.2
Snowflake launched CoCo, an agentic control plane meant to give enterprise builders worldwide "a unified, governed environment to manage workflows across data, models, and apps."3
Smaller players are moving too. Casap, a startup, builds AI agents to automate dispute resolution for fintech firms operating across markets. Founders Shanti and Sayisi launched the company after hitting the problem at large fintech employers, where resolving disputes demanded heavy engineering effort "even with a really strong engineering team," investor Emily Man said.4 Man said her firm backed the founders' track record before a finished product existed.4
Across regions, the pattern repeats: multinational corporations embed agents into core workflows while startups target narrow, cross-border problems. Adoption is outpacing governance everywhere. Enterprise leaders in multiple markets report unclear ownership models and no pre-deployment roadmaps, even as rollouts continue.
The gap points to a global reckoning. Partnerships like Manulife-Microsoft and platforms like Box and Snowflake CoCo are betting security and admin tooling can stand in for change-management processes most enterprises, regardless of region, have yet to build.
