Motion design can play a key role in advancing the communication and marketing campaigns of companies, especially small businesses, says an industry expert.

“Motion design is the future of communication,” Cyril-Mickaël Callejon, CEO and producer at Directive Première, a France-based audiovisual production and post-production company, told Via News in an interview.

Cyril made the comments on the sidelines of an event about motion design, which was held recently in Lisbon by Lisads Agency where he works as an artistic director.

Lisads Agency, founded by Halim Derres from France, specializes in SEA, SEO, and SMO and provides its clients with a global communication strategy and personalized follow-up, mostly through Google tools and in cooperation with its partners.

Cyril explained that motion design is the art of bringing graphics to life through animation and can help companies communicate their message with more “precision” and “clarity” and in a quicker, simpler, and more effective manner.

He also said motion design is an economically attractive option for marketing and advertising and engages the audience more successfully, especially on social media platforms and TV.

“For example, when you’re scrolling through posts on Twitter, you’re more likely to click on an animation video because it seems more interesting and you can understand the information in it more quickly.”

Future Trends

On how the industry has changed over the past several years, the expert said designers have become much more professional compared to the past and their productions have become more “creative” and “artistic”.

He believes that this positive change can be partly attributed to the advancement of technology and the new possibilities that have opened up in this sector.

Almost all businesses that sell daily-use products such as food and smartphones can benefit from motion design by incorporating it in their communication and marketing strategies, he added.

Cyril, who specializes in motion design and visual effects mainly in the field of science fiction, says new technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence will keep transforming the motion design landscape.

They will bring more interactivity and will open the way for more customization and personalization options that will help companies predict the behavior of consumers and reach the right segment of the audience based on their preferences, he explained. “This is the future of motion design.”

Motion Design in Portugal

Asked about the motion design industry in Portugal, Cyril said it is still not very popular in the country and is not as developed as it is in countries such as France.

According to him, this is one of the reasons why motion design services are more expensive in Portugal and are usually outsourced.

However, Lisads Agency is trying to make such services more available and less expensive for businesses in Portugal, using the expertise of French professionals, he said.

Cyril maintains that Portugal should make more investment in the field of motion design, including for the creation of video games, and attract international talent that can help develop this sector by further simplifying the process involved.

He added that he is doing his best to share French expertise with people in Portugal and popularize this industry in the country.

Cyril also said an event will be organized by Lisads Agency in Lisbon in March to discuss influencer marketing on social media, such as Instagram and YouTube.
